Forgive me for my inadequate knowledge, but what are Islamic prophecies on Syria in relations to coming of Imam Mahdi and Day of Judgement Day? I believe there are two major prophecies in regards to Syria, one which is related to coming of Imam Mahdi, and the second one concerns Day of Judgment.
All comments are appreciated. My intention is not to stir any political debate, I genuinely want to know about these prophecies from an academic point of view.

I am interested in it too. Again, not an expert, but whatever I have heard is the Sunni view. I would like to know if there are alternate views on this matter.

*Umm Salamah ( رضي الله عنه ) reports that the Prophet of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وسلم ) said: “Disagreement will
take place at the death of a khalifa (as to who should succeed him), so a man from the people of
Madinah will leave fleeing towards Makkah (anticipating that he may be selected as the khalifah,
and fearing that may not be able to discharge the rights of the position). Thereafter some people
of Makkah will come to him, and take him out of his home while he is hesitant, then they will
pledge allegiance to him between the black stone and maqam Ibrahim. An army from Syria will be
sent to (confront) him, then they will be swallowed into the earth in Baydāʾ (a place) between
Makkah and Madinah. So when the people will see this (the signs attributed to, and through
which they will recognize the Mahdi), the Abdal of Syria and the pious of Iraq will come to him
and will pledge allegiance to him. Thereafter a man from Quraysh will arise whose maternal
uncles belong to Kalb. He will send an army against them (the believers) and they will overcome
it. This will be known as the expedition of Kalb. There will be only disappointment and
frustration for the one who do not get any share from the spoils of Kalb. He will distribute the
wealth and will govern the people by the sunnah of their Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وسلم ) and establish Islam on
the earth. Thereafter (after becoming the ruler and establishing Islam) he will remain for seven
years, then die, and the Muslims will pray (the funeral prayer) over him”. (Abū Dawūd)
*Here's a reference I was able to find. Although, it should be noted that the text of the hadith refers to the region as Sham, which includes modern day Syria but isn't restricted to that region alone.

Interestingly, there is a Biblical end of times prophecy on Syria which refers to complete destruction of Damascus, and whole of Syria becoming uninhabitable. This view is very similar to Islamic prophecy of Syria in relations to coming of Imam Mahdi. I have heard that Syria will completely destroyed before the emergence of Imam Mahdi.

According to my limited knowledge, Jesus will descend at the white minaret of Grand Ummayad Mosque in Damascs Syria and from there he would lead muslim soliders for a decisive war against dajal..

Isn't there a Hadith on Syria that the good people of Syria will be chased out of their homes and the bad people will move towards IRaq?

Mahdi supposed to arise in Mecca or Madinah, not Syria.
And Jesus supposed to descend at some mosque in Damascus.
Also, another prophecy relating to 3 islamic armies.. i forgot how it goes but one army flees, one army gets killed, and one army survives.. is supposed to happen in the region too.
