Anyone heard or read these hadith’s?
Is the current Wahabi movement that which was warned about in these hadith’s?
Re: Prophecy of Najd
**Narrated Ibn ‘Umar: (The Prophet) said, “O Allah! Bless our Sham and our yemen.” People said, “Our Najd as well.” The Prophet again said, “O Allah! Bless our Sham and yemen.” They said again, “Our Najd as well.” On that the Prophet said, “There will appear earthquakes and afflictions, and from there will come out the side of the horn of Satan.” (Book #17, Hadith #147, Bukhari)

What’s interesting is the debate on where Najd is exactly and how Wahabbis spend quite some effort in disspelling ideas that the area of Najd is near and including present-day Riyadh, and ancestral homes of the current Saud family and Wahab, founder of Wahabbism.
There are some other hadith’s about the people of this area, and interestingly some stories from the times of the Caliph’s about people from this area. And how the first rebels / extremists that even Caliphs had to face came from this area.
Puts things in interesting perspective.
