In some religions fire represents purity...I remember when I did philosophy A level...there was certain occasions where fire was referred to in the Bible..as a source of purity and had cleansing properties

and often the filament has burnt itself long and intense enough that it goes out of existence or becomes lifeless.

but life is good when it is lived well and not flickery. :)
