Propaganda war against Pakistan and how to counter it?

There is a highly organized and deadly propaganda onslaught on the morale of Pakistani people. Everyday there is a controlled leak by the mouth pieces of USA govt.

**Now we all know it doesn’t really matter if the information provided is right or wrong, the most important goal in propaganda war is get the right affect. **

And going by the messages in this forum, I can see that an average Pakistani living abroad is getting the affects of that sustained psychological attack on us (of course I am not talking about those who pretend to be Pakistanis but have always been dead-against the concept of Pakistan. For those people, propaganda or not, they will always be sworn anti-Pakistan).

Now a question for patriotic Pakistanis, how can we counter in this information warfare? I have personally stopped reading/watching BBC, CNN, WP, NYT, Fox, WikilLeaks and many more a long time ago and I am very happy with that decision. But what to do about our own media which is systematically being bought by the westerners?
(Dawn, Tribune etc. etc.).

What are your suggestions?

The problem is not the news articles or news flash and/or some say of political or army analyst... the demoralization starts up when we see our Parliament passing out a resolution and with armed forces fully backing it up but then within days the drone attacks continue and no action as prescribed in the resolution has taken place... these are the facts that get us demoralize... and no word, sentence can counter it.. it is the action which can boost the moral... to much talking has been done...

I hear what you say.

And I agree the time for action has come. But see, the things are changing slowly. You can not change everything in a day. Just wait this summer and you will see why Pak army is biting the bullet and letting things happen at the moment.

This is not to suggest that they are going to let them cross some very hard drawn red lines.
And small but an important step is to ask the CIA spies to leave.

That all aside, we still need to figure how to check this uncontrolled flow of very damaging propaganda against Pak. I think setting up a media university by Pak-China in the near future to educate masses is a step in the right direction.

Like I said, the hard-core nationalist like me are feeling low, when we see US is killing our people left right and center... there is simple way of getting rid of these Spies from the country, shoot two or three of them as they shot down some Chechans in Balochistan and make it a story that they confronted the security agencies hence shot down in a gun battle... repeat it for two three time in different locations and the number of US operatives in Pakistan will go down... asking them rather begging them to leave ain't going to do any good...

Kiyani gave them hard time with Raymond and later aggressively warned them about the drone attacks & how did they responded, they came in and FOUND the most wanted man right under the nose of Pak-Army, making them look bad and incompetent.. as long as we are going to use words, US and Allies are not going listen as half the time they are to busy in listening to their favorite sport while talking to somebody in Pakistan and the only way they listen and take you serious is when you give them tit-for-tat...

for the Media University, it would be a great step forward... it would educate the masses to how to respond to west... and it is known fact that, Media is an important front in any war... with today's mass media, there has to be training institute of higher level for the same.

Bhaijan, the lid is off the gutter now. The proxy armies (taliban, LET) created by ISI and CIA has become a nasoor; a festering wound for Pakistan and US.
These "jihadis" or proxy armies were indoctrinated radically for "jihad" against the white kaffir soviets. They were not fighting the soviets they were indoctrinated to fight agsint kaffirs for Islam.

The proxy armies like taliban have now become the foot soldiers for AlQaeda.

In 70's, Pakistan was with these "jihadis" against the white kaffirs. Now Pakistan has joined War on Terror and now Pakistan is with white kaffirs against these proxy armies.

These proxy armies dont differentiate between soviets or Americans, they are same to them as both are kaffir. Today Pak fauj is with the kaffirs. And no doubt these proxies are targetting Pak Fauj.

And there are rouge elements in Pak Fauj that provide full support to proxies and share the same values as the proxies.

Morale of people will be down as these jahils are targetting and killing soldiers of Pak Fauj, why do you blame the western media for that?

Put your house on order, no other country is free enough to have a propaganda war against you.

^^ Totally agreed, Putting House in order should be the top priority. If Pakistanis openly oppose intervention and monetary aid of USA, they should also track the interference and the money coming from Saudis and UAE etc.

Unfortunately today, if any "jahil" wants to indulge in "jihad", they come to Pakistan for training and schooling. Unfortunately, Pakistan has become a magnet for "jihadis" from all over the world. From UK, US, midde east, Asia Pacific, India.

Pakistanis need to ask themselves why do they come to Pakistan for schooling and training?? Why not arab countries?

Unless Pakistan does not get rid of this "magnet" status, there is no point in blaming the west. Pakistan is fully capable for cleansing this nasoor, but the question is; Is Pakistan willing to cleanse or will Pakistan pick and choose???

Indeed a good point about money coming from abroad for jihadi organizations. That must be checked for sure.

An important but different topic.

And no, we are not anti western, we just want to protect our interests just like any other country in the world would do. And of course countering the malicious propaganda war belongs to that.

well as far as pakistanis would not unite and do not sell their conscious to evil for dollars and do not repent for sins and feel the responsibilty, then till that time we cannot fight against this foreign propaganda war. we have to unite for that and our nation and the politicians must feel responsibility.

well firenze! plz give a proof that bin laden was in pakistan, even CIA and america had not given any proof for that bin laden to be in pakistan. any word from any american leadr is not a proof. or a picture shown is not a proof. where is the proof?

USA is not fighting this war for Pakistani people. Their only clients are American people. Why should they care to show proof to pakistanis or for that matter any other country.as long as Americans people believe, why should CIA care about the rest.

It's the duty of pak govt to convince it's citizens about any development. If you want proof, ask pak govt.

In my perspective, we Pakistanis are the one who have created haven for Jihadi groups. And second of all, the sooner we realize and better it is that..we have become haven for extremism. And i also believe that we have some elements in ISI as well as in army whose mindset is with Jihadis. So called Jihadis who claim to destroy not only Pakistan but our neighbor India as well. I love Pakistan to death..and i can do anything in my capacity to defend Pakistan. But i do not want to see is someone else..namely Indians or CIA being blamed for this menace as an excuse. We should stop living in denial and thinking that everything is saazish against us. Yes there might be..but what we need NOW is to tackle and finish this extremism and corruption at our end as a nation. And first step to heal is to recognize the problem.

I do also understand that our neighbor India has full right to defend itself against any threat to their borders as well as it is ours. Our neighbor feels discomfort for whatever goes on in Pakistan..they are indirectly effected at the end of the day. Yes we have a regional dispute with our neighbor and have historical animosity which is beside the point. But fact remains, WE HAVE become haven for terrorism. When are we going to stop voting for corrupt parties like PPP, PML N and MQM.

Lets start by changing our mindset to bring about revolution against corruption and religious extremism. Bring qualified people to the government. RE-structure our political, judicial from bottom to the top. Bring in educated and qualified class to build our foriegn policy from bottom to top. And lastly, these Jammat e Islami or anyone related to this mindset must be put on ban to take part in any kind of politics.

My brothers, our morale is very down at this time so please for god sake stop creating this conspiracy theories. They are just theories at the end of the day. Think about Pakistan!!!!!

Well said my man. If only there were more people who were as rational as you. Enough of conspiracy theories. Even if the entire world is out there to destroy Pakistan (which it isn't), it is the responsibility of Pakistan to protect itself competently. Coming up with conspiracy theories to describe the situation in Pakistan is like a homeless man giving excuses to describe his situation. It is time to act like adults and acknowledge the fact that Pakistan should have the ability to determine its own fate. Everything that is happening in Pakistan now is directly correlated to the choices the country has made in the past and continues to make in the present.

So this is the message that I am trying to convey.

And affects of an PSYOP (Psychological Operation), a very old and very dangerous weapon of CIA and co., can be felt as you have yourself said that the morale is getting down. This is precisely the goal of this kind of PSYOPs. So I'll say we have a fight at our hands at many fronts.
