I have got admission offer for my Masters from University of British Columbia, Jan 2009 session.
I wanted to know if someone unrelated to me can be my sponsor to fulfil the proof of funds criterion.
I wasn’t able to find the info on pak-canadian embassy website and the embassy guy I called was most unhelpful.
I also contacted a consultant who told me that they arent issuing any student visas lately. Is that true?
1- from all documents that I have seen they ask for the sponsors relation to the student, but the question in their mind would be, why is someone unrelated sponsoring you. but I dont knwo if it has changed.
2- consultant is full of it, probably wants you to pay them to get stuff done that you can do yourself anyways, as canadians here will tell you there are new desi students in canadian unis each semester
