Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
Can you point me to the place in the link where it says that UN agrees?
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
That looks like an anti-aircraft gun. Are their any laws that say anti-aircraft defences cannot be in civillian areas?
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
Bottom line is simple: Hizbiz wear "civilian clothes", operate and use logistics from "civilan areas" and that is a big no no.
The release of the images comes as Hezbollah faces criticism for allegedly using innocent civilians as "human shields".
Mr Egeland [UN rep] blasted Hezbollah as "cowards" for operating among civilians. **
**"When I was in Lebanon, in the Hezbollah heartland, I said Hezbollah must stop this cowardly blending in among women and children," he said.
*The Melbourne man who smuggled the shots out of Beirut **and did not wish to be named said he was less than 400m from the block when it was obliterated.
*"Hezbollah came in to launch their rockets, then within minutes the area was blasted by Israeli jets," he said. **
*"Until the Hezbollah fighters arrived, it had not been touched by the Israelis. Then it was totally devastated. *
"It was carnage. Two innocent people died in that incident, but it was so lucky it was not more."
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
^ kheshekan asked for you to quote a law, not some idiot from Melbourne's biased and false report.
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
Bro I know Khekheshan for a while now. He got his answer and understood. You on the other hand is simply lost.
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
Are they Hizbullah or not? Looks like fair game to me. Anti-aircraft guns can generally be aimed horizontally by the way.
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
Really? He understood? Let kheskhan say that himself, otherwise you are a liar, (although the majority on this forum already know you are a pathological liar and a lost cause)
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
Again, if they know they are in civilian areas, send your men in get them rather than carpet bombing the entire city. I'm sorry, but these pictures are still not justification for the Israeli army to bomb civilian areas.
If you know they are there, go in, by foot, and fight them face to face.
That is of course if they want to save civilian lives. Why do that though? That would result in Israeli army casualties. It's easier to carpet bomb and flatten the whole country.
Oh, and on a side note, CNN reported on their weekend special on Hizbullah that they have terror cells in every country and are actually the "terrorists" who have been behind all the Al-Qaeda bombings. I'm waiting to hear the 9/11 connection which I am sure will come soon enough. So much for Osama.
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
Mehnaz,
Ground combat in urban areas is far more deadly to civilians. Think Fallujah. There is nothing fair about this. War is not designed to be fair. It is deadly. It is far less deadly every year, the images are simply rushed to out screens quicker. In WWII, hundred of bombs had to be dropped to hit one target. Today just one.
It is just an odd quirk of morality that one side can draw fire like a magnet to civilians, but people refuse to condemn this. Just odd.
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
What I find amusing is that Israel is acting just as ‘wicked’ as Hizbullah, if not worse considering they are supposed to a responsible government who know all about the importance and value of human rights given their own history. There actions are not worse than the terrorists.
What’s odd, but not really surprising, is that everything Israel does is fair game. It’s justified. It’s excusable. It’s o.k.
What’s the difference between them and the “terrorists”? I don’t see any.
Interesting article on the ‘morality’ of this war.

"Them" has a backup by America (Bush) ..Terrorists all on their own
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
Nope, not Hezbollah at all. Lebanon has other militant groups, not just Hizbullah. There are a lot of weapons in the hands of Druze, Sunni and Maronite militias as well.
Also, Hizbullah soldiers wear uniforms. These people are wearing civilian clothing, so they are most likely Christian or Druze.
Moreover, these weapons are necessary in civilian areas, since Israeli terrorists insist on bombing civilian areas, ambulances, and cars carrying civilians.

Actually anti-aircraft weapons are far more effective on the edges of town where they have a clear 180 degree view of the horizon. Putting them in the middle of high rise buildings is extremely limiting, and then the shells fall on civilians. Presumably after 18 years of occupation, the Israelis know which neighborhoods belong to which faction. The Druze would not wheel this thing into a Shia neighborhood. And, most of the other militias have voluntarily disarmed.
And, the article that accompanies the photos clearly says:
Dressed in civilian clothing so they can quickly disappear, the militants carrying automatic assault rifles and ride in on trucks mounted with cannon.
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
What rubbish! You post two unverified pictures and caption it anything you want to label a group whatever come to your mind for the sake of establishing your point. So far I know Israel or the media Israelis control utter such nonsense. So who are you?
So Hizbullah was hiding under bridges, at the Beirut International Airport, at the Damascus-Lebanon highway? How many missiles were fired from the city of Beirut into Israel? Proof?
Again, Hizbullah doesn’t use civilians as shields, they have their own tactics of warfare and they’re fighting well so far.
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
Neighborhoods are mixed, they are not exclusively Christian, Druze or Shia. We don't know what neighborhood this is, nor do we know for sure whether or not these are militants or civilians who like to pose for Western media to show of their manliness.
Most other militias have "disarmed" but not entirely. What does that even mean, to be disarmed? Does that mean that members of the militia now have to have some kind of gun license? Did they go in a line and hand in their guns, etc? Hahaha!
Sorry, but they would like for you to think they have "disarmed", but they are much more secretive about their weapons now. They just don't show them off like Hezbollah does in their parades.
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
Hmmmmm…
And Pureland, the newspaper these were published in was an Australian paper. The Jews control OZ too?
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
Ohioguy, the Americans might :D Apparantly the American intelligence empire is forbidden from planting stuff in American media but no such rules for international media. Spake James Risen in State of War.
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
The degree to which Muslims delude themselves to avoid responsibility always amazes me.
Re: Proof: Hizbullah hiding in civilian areas, UN agrees
I was joking, and it was a comment not relevant to the topic. Apology accepted, thanks. Carry on.
