manto ke bhi bohat se afsane ban chuke hain...actually i think sarmad sultan khoosat did a short series called manto ke afsane aur manto rama...something like that....it had short dramas based on on manto stories......sarmad and sohail ahmed did harnaam kaur....which was excellent.

I think Maria Wasti was also there in Kaali Shalwar. Its time to that director's should dramatise classic short stories. I like TV One's Bolte Afsane where they dramatised many classic stories of Ismat Chughtai like Bichcho Phuppi, Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi's Toba tek Singh & AalaaN.
It seems that people have accepted khulla dulla pun in dramas considering the success of Faseeh Bari Khan's projects like Bruns Road ki Nilofer, Romance in Runchor Line and current Quddoosi Saheb ki Bewah :D
