My question is that do we have a longer table for Hex than this or that is it?

You want more than a nibble?

There is no harm in asking for more. ![]()
Student is back with new stuff, have started to code in net beans eclipse and mat-lab. Also, have started a new project on game developing.
Why do we learn matlab for? Why is it useful for images?
Re: Programming
What software will you recommend to a PHP beginner? Notepad++ or Dream viewer?
Re: Programming
I think NetBeans is pretty good for two main reasons with PHP
1 . Auto complete & Intellisense
2 . Jump to definition
Re: Programming
I'm not asking why you work as a programmer, but whether you have a passion for the act of programming. I think of programming the same way as an artist thinks of painting or a poet writes a poem, it's not simply a means to an end, or a job, but something inside of you that needs to be expressed or something which you have to solve and you look for the solution in your head.
I love the art of debugging, especially figuring out problems with almost no information. Another thing I love to do is start a new program, I love to play with different soft wares. What I really love is tackling something no one else knows how to do, or maybe no one has ever tried to do. That's the most magical thing of all, figuring out how to write a program to do something totally unique, or even seemingly impossible. Some programs are boring , some are interesting and for some you can't wait to complete it. I love that amazing feeling you get after you implement an amazing new feature that works perfectly, yeahhh I created the bouncy ball game in eclipse, happy moments.
I love to program, sometime It takes my frustration away and sometime it makes me much more frustrated,it depends. How about you?
Though I don't write programs for a living, I still like programming. It is one of those things I do for fun.
Re: Programming
I haven’t tried it with Notepad++ but I definitely liked Dreamweaver for writing PHP code.
In theory, you can make that table as long as you want, though for the hexadecimal digits, that will cover it.
Re: Programming
I have used ultraedit for php, perl and python. Works good.

I am using NetBeans to learn PHP,this was recommended by the teacher as well.

I used Notpad++ for HTML,it was pretty fine, never used Dreamweaver.
I have used ultraedit for php, perl and python. Works good.
Python and Perl are for professionals I think.
Re: Programming
lol desi nerds showing off... with words only. :D If it were desi programmers, there would have been no linux, no wikipedia.... basically there would have been no open source. Every one would have just copied the same code.
Show us some of your work, share with us what you do. Dont be afraid, Knowledge increases when shared.

Open Source does not mean no copying. And copying code isn't necessarily bad, it saves precious time by enabling developers to concentrate on problems that have not been solved yet, instead of wasting time on ones that have been solved decades ago.
Code gets recycled all the time.;)

You have read my post totally wrong. I didn’t imply any thing you are referring to. ![]()

Programming/coding is third phase of traditional software development process. The real art lies in the second phase Software Design and that is job of system analysts and system designers.
well programmer is a sort of laborer who implements the system specifications as described/explained by system analyst and designer. I could have not realize it until a system analyst asked me to write a system specification of a small business and it took me write four versions in two weeks to design a correct abstract level use-case model.
If you say that programmers write code as poet write poetry , I would say the programmer write the most terrible poetry of the world :D
Re: Programming
That is the real model of how SDLC is suppose to be however, these days specially in the US there are only software engineers who have to go through all the processes themselves and don't have any one else to work with.
Re: Programming
yeah, that is sort of Agile Development where system analysts are replaced with on-site customer who knows particular business.

same is happening with waterfall....
Re: Programming

really?? may be those engineers perform some use-case modeling and class diagram design level activities. that must not all about waterfall process model.
cant believe a developer like engineer who codes regularly can perform requirement gathering, analysis, architecture design and then software design or vice versa.
Re: Programming
I chose this field against my family's will. My mother said that its better to be a civil engineer rather than a software since no one knew about this field back in 2002. computer field got my interest because of hacking but then it got shifted towards programming (started with C and Assembly).
I consider programming a skill rather than a real asset. Anyone who has enough intellectual can learn programming in couple of days, specially if you are dealing with high level programming languages and i don't see that working as a programmer is a real achievement (I learned it after working at a giant tech company in last 2 years). If i had a choice to study again, I would rather focus on some other field rather than programming only. Programmers are more or less the labour of software industry. When everything is done, call the programmer, hand over the specs and wait for him to complete the code. He wouldn't know why and how a business decision is made and WHY ?
There are lots of other reasons which i learned while working in this Giant company and now i am seriously thinking to consider programming as my skill rather than an asset. Still confuse though
Re: Programming
Well it depends what type of programming you do. Programmers are highly paid personnel but those are few in number.
to learn, its not that difficult task, but it takes 2 to 3 years to be a professional programmer. however it just a skill and you cannot do with it beyond 6 to 8 years, either you should be manager of switch to another field.

Yep. Companies dont want to hire more people anymore.....they want one person doing the work of 5 people....
