Should there be gender equality in terms of career or professional success and progression? Or is it an OTT expectation from the *weaker *gender i.e women’s side, seeing most people around us believe their sole role is homemaking?

Re: Professional success and ambition
there definitely should be gender equality
i dont think its an OTT expectation
i agree that in many cases women face a lot of resistance from their husbands and in laws for having ambitions or professional goals
but i truly believe that our society is shifting away from placing obstacles in a woman's path simply due to an increase in awareness of the benefit of goal oriented and ambitious women
Re: Professional success and ambition
what's wrong with their sole role being home-making?
:D
Re: Professional success and ambition
nothing wrong in that. But it often impedes their ambitious nature if they indeed are passionate about their career at some point in life. And when I say impede, I mean to say, that somewhere, somebody is going to use that as a bait to not let them devote as much as they want to and might even make them quit altogether.

nothing at all…if thats what she wants to do ![]()
^^thats very true many will use that to bait us into giving up…with all kinds of ridiculous arguments may be used to keep a woman from achieving
…but i still feel that we as a society are moving away from that as more and more ppl are realizing that a woman who is passionate about her goals can be a huge asset to her family in many ways… aurat ke andar yeh innate desire toh hoti hi hai to make a home and have kids but if she is on top of it passionate about her career or pardhai i think that is a huge plus point and i think our society is slowly realizing that too
