so we have all seen them, products whose names dont go withh what they really are. share some that you have seen.

I would note pamprin, some kinda pain releiver, I thought it would be a product by pampers for diaper rash or something.

Maybe they were going for an alteration of “pamper”…You know, women pampering themselves with some good pain-relieving medicines.

In Mumbai, first time I heard, I thought it's some kind of "Gutkha" (a mixture of tobacco and supari for which Manikchand is originally famous for)...but since Gutkhas are officially banned in Mumbai..so it turned out to be a bottled drinking water!

There are other type of products/services which poach other brandnames.

For instance
Onida underwear and banian [Onida is a famous TV brand]
James Bond 'here' saloon [Barber Shop]

and some names get created because of wrong spellings.
Child Bear (Instead of Chilled Beer)
