I am from the UK, but I always here friends and relations talk about the greatness of Pakistan etc etc and one of the things they always mention is everything you get in the USA and UK is available in Pakistan. After visiting Islamabad, Lahore I doubt they do certain items although they have the item but not all brands such as the following:-
* Coca-Cola
* Coca-Cola C2
* Coca-Cola Citra
* Coca-Cola with Lemon
* Coca-Cola with Lime
* Coca-Cola with Raspberry
* Coca-Cola Zero
* Coca-Cola Black Cherry Vanilla
* Coca-Cola Blak
* Coke II
* Diet Coke Black Cherry Vanilla
* Diet Coke Citra/Coca-Cola light Citra
* Diet Coke Plus
* Diet Coke Sweetened with Splenda
* Diet Coke with Lemon/Coca-Cola light with Lemon
* Diet Coke with Lime/Coca-Cola light with Lime
* Diet Coke with Raspberry
* Diet Vanilla Coke
I didn’t see most of these brands maybe coke and diet. Also, I am not just referring to food & drink but insurance services etc.
Yeah well some people like variety despite choosing products and services like myself this is just an example.
Specialised insurance such as: After the event insurance, flood insurance, Business overhead expense (BOE) disability insurance, Political risk insurance.
How about Government housing scheme where government helps you buy a home?
I doubt these exist in Pakistan. I am tired at people telling me Pakistan is better than the UK and USA people, places, food, drink and everything else where clearly why are all Pakistanis/Indians all running to the UK for?
Stop getting into these kind of arguments, they go no where. I have heard people say the same things for a long time, let them say it. If it's so great then why are they here? Why don't they go back to their huge houses with maids, amazing cars with drivers, and cushy govt or bank jobs which their family connections could get them in a snap?
Just to give you an example back when I was in college there was a crowd of Pakistani foreign students from Dubai. They were always talking about how amazing it is (I don't doubt it is) and as soon as they are done with their education here they are jetting back to Dubai for their amazing jobs waiting for them. Almost all of them remained here after graduation and some if not all of them even struggled with their job situations (02 - 03 was a bad time to graduate and look for jobs). But they had amazing jobs waiting for them back in Dubai!!!!
Had a roommate from Pakistan who claimed the same, and how a civil service jobs is waiting for him back home. Civil service jobs in Pakistan mean big money, amazing benefits, respect and chance to earn extra (if you get my drift ;) ). He ended up taking a low paying job here for a few months and then went crying back home when his job wouldn't sponsor him to stay here longer. But but but civil service job back home....
Although there are pluses of Pakistan. All the things you mentioned are just luxuries. Not everyone needs coke with splenda or with lime. People don't rely on insurance, but instead rely on their savings to help out in bad times. There is govt assistance available to buy houses, it's called House Building Loans. Despite all the problems in Pakistan, jobs are stable (as far as middle class is concerned), and there is no culture of overspending so much that loans are needed. Look at the situation here, people keep buying things they don't need (do people really need a 60" HDTV?) and when they can't they take out loans and end up with huge problems when they can't pay them back on time.
BTW, overseas Pakistanis who live in Pakistan act the same way. There was a huge bank called BCCI which crashed and our school had an influx of HK and Singapore based Pakistanis coming in. They were always going on and on about how amazing HK is and how great Singapore is. Completely annoying. We DONT CARE. Stop speaking in that sh***y "Singaporean English", no one gives a damn.
