Product Reviews 2014 - Strollers, carseats, bottles, cribs etc...

Re: Product Reviews 2014 - Strollers, carseats, bottles, cribs etc…

which carseat do you recommend?

Re: Product Reviews 2014 - Strollers, carseats, bottles, cribs etc…

Are you intending to use it on your stroller frame as a travel system? Do you want to purchase the stroller first and then match the car seat or vice versa?

I have a Graco Snugride 35. I had it for the first kid and iA second babe will be using it too. It’s not glamorous but it’s highly rated for safety and it’s got a high weight/height capacity. Also comes in many colours and is fairly lightweight to carry around- as babies grow, they get heavy fast!

According to Consumer Reports, the Chicco Keyfit is the top infant seat for 2014. 5 Best Car Seats for Your Baby | Infant Car Seats - Consumer Reports News

If the Cybex Aton line was available in Canada (it’s not because of different safety standards vs US), I might have upgraded based on looks to match my shiny new stroller
BUT it’s also obviously very safe too which is top priority. It uses Maxi Cosi adaptors for the stroller btw, so any stroller that’ll take a MC car seat will take the Cybex line too.

This is a very comprehensive list of strollers and car seat adaptors:

I have the baby jogger city mini. It is light weight and very easy to unfold. I bought the carry cot with it. Used carrycot for about six months. I wish I had bought a parent facing stroller though.

We have Contour double stroller for 18 months now and are very happy with it. First we used it with our then 4 year old and 1 year old. Now for last 12 months its used for our 2.5 year and almost 1 year old toddlers.
The good thing is design and compactness. It is light, as that was our priority and my wife can easily load unload. It is one of the most versatile stroller, you can change the configuration as you like. It comes with an adapter for free, and two regular seats. Covers you with multiple kids ranging from new born till age of 4 easily. My 5 year old has out grown it a bit, but still rides it time to time.

The Wheel Deal: Our Annual Guide To The Best Strollers Of 2014

Re: Product Reviews 2014 - Strollers, carseats, bottles, cribs etc…

Wow, I hadn’t even remembered that I started this thread last year. I didn’t even open the parenting forum after I had my miscarriage but I am now 10 weeks (mA mA) and things are going well. I was coming on to ask for reviews regarding safety issues and ease of use with this stroller/carseat: The Nuna Pipa carseat and Mix Series stroller. This in on the higher end of the budget and then I am considering the Britax system for about half the cost. What do you guys think?

MIXX™ Series, MIXX™ Stroller - Nuna USA

Re: Product Reviews 2014 - Strollers, carseats, bottles, cribs etc…

The Nuna Pipa car seat has excellent reviews. The strollers just came to market - I haven’t test driven one yet so I don’t know what they’re like.

Which Britax are you thinking of? Both the B-Ready and the Uppababy Vista are giant strollers. I have friends with both, have pushed both and see them firsthand and unless you plan to be mostly walking and have no stairs to navigate, I’d opt for something else.

The Britax B-Agile is a cute little system and the fold is amazing but it doesn’t steer well with one hand and the basket is pretty small. We use the B-Agile for plane travel because we can gate check it easily.

This time around I opted for the Bugaboo Cameleon. In bassinet mode, the basket is completely closed off so it’s useless. My daughter didn’t like the bassinet so I used it twice. As a stroller with the seat on, it’s great! The steering is incredible, the yield quality is excellent and it’s a nice compact design. You do have to take the seat off to fold it though so beware that.

Your best bet is to hit up a baby store and push and fold and steer everything! It’s so much fun! Just go and play with the strollers- you’ve got loads of time and now is when all the new models are hitting the market too so there’ll be new things to see. And then come back and file a report! Sometimes I think I want a third child just so I can get another stroller! :stuck_out_tongue:

Stroller hunting is frustrating. I like the graco modes click connect its a 3in1 travel system.. it currently retails for 599$+ taxes. I have also been looking into jogging strollers..they just look so bulky. :frowning:

Re: Product Reviews 2014 - Strollers, carseats, bottles, cribs etc…

I have a suuuuuuuuuuuuper basic Graco Click Connect that was gifted to us at my shower. I am not a fan of the car seat because its not padded enough for an infant and I didn’t realize this until we were already using it. I made do by using rolled up blankets and putting towels under the seat to help it recline more. His neck wasn’t stable enough to hold himself so it would droop forward and give me a heart attack when I found him like that a few times.

The stroller though I like. Its **nothing **fancy but its lightweight, easy to open and close, easy to maneuver and really does click with the car seat.

After we are done with this seat and stroller which might be soon as the seat is not meant to accommodate a growing babe…I’ll be looking into a nicer set.

By the way, congratulations!!!

@Jhanjariya
Jogging strollers are huge - if you’re not planning on actually running, I wouldn’t get one. For around $600, there are lots of options! What are your top requirements in a stroller? Maybe I can help make it easier for you. I love stroller shopping!
