Well, I’m not saying that an American can’t be a Muslim, but being born and raised in America it’s unfair for Pakistani parents to expect their children to follow their religion.

you cant compare an expectation with compulsion here - nothing wrong if one expects something he/she considered as beneficial for him/herself for his/her love ones !
