Re: Problem with Audio Driver

Where are you downloading the device driver from?
This will sound silly, but are you installing the correct driver for your OS?

Is your PC branded? Like HP, Compaq, Sony, etc..etc.. then I’d go to their website and go under Support and Drivers, input your PC model number and it should narrow it to default OS and all drivers for it. Alternatively you can choose OS from drop menu and just download and install Audio Driver.

If it’s an aftermarket add-on PCI card or a custom PC then:

I’d try these two methods (If you haven’t already)

  1. Go to Device Manager. Go under audio device(s) and click on “Update drivers” for each device listed. Make sure you’re connected to the internet. It should attempt to update the driver to the latest. This is the easiest method.

  2. Locate the manufacturer for the Sound Card (You can take a look on the card itself if it’s an add-on PCI), or if it’s built on board then locate the manufacturer for Motherboard (if it’s branded then go to PC manufacturer website) and download the relevant driver and it should install just fine.
