Pro-Musharraf resolution on judges in pipeline: PML-N

Has the PML Nawaz seen a draft copy?

Pro-Musharraf resolution on judges in pipeline: PML-N

Federal Law Minister Farooq H Naek, Adviser to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik and National Security Council Secretary Tariq Aziz are preparing a draft resolution for the reinstatement of the sacked judges acceptable to President Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesman Siddiqul Farooq told Dawn News on Monday. Siddiq said he had been ‘informed’ that the three were engaged in drafting the resolution for the last three days in the National Reconstruction Bureau premises. He said the Pakistan People’s Party and the PML-N had been given mandate in the February 18 polls against President Musharraf’s policies, and it would be going against the people’s wishes if any step strengthened Musharraf. He regretted that the judges’ issue was still unresolved despite PML-N’s flexible approach. He said, however, that the PML-N wanted to keep the coalition intact

wow so great president musharraf is now ok with the reinstatement of the same judges he illegally ousted? is he alright, must be pretty desperate to accept such things :hehe:

^now see what Wasi Duffer, loony commando’s law minister, has to say.

Wasi Zafar says he acted cowardly: Reference against CJ

By Mudassir Raja

RAWALPINDI, May 19: Former federal law minister Muhammad Wasi Zafar has for the the first time distanced himself from the reference filed against deposed chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, and said it had been filed without his knowledge.

It may be mentioned here that Mr Zafar was among the few ministers who vigorously defended the government when a controversy erupted over the reference.

In a statement issued on Monday, the former minister rejected former prime minister Shaukat Aziz’s claim that the reference had been sent to him by the law ministry and he merely forwarded it to the president after a ‘thorough analysis’.

Talking to DawnNews a few days ago, Mr Aziz had said he had fulfilled his ‘constitutional duty’ by sending the reference to the president.

Wasi Zafar said he was surprised by the statement because the summary had not been signed by him as the law minister, adding the record could be checked.

The former law minister said he was not part of the team which had prepared the summary or filed the reference. “The procedure was kept secret from me. I learnt about the reference through my own sources,” Mr Zafar said.

He said the government had asked him to defend the reference and as a federal law minister he only carried out his responsibility.

Mr Zafar, who did not get a PML-Q ticket for the general elections, said that being a federal minister he had two options: either to defend the reference or to quit the government. He said he opted for the former course, adding that he could not resign because of “weakness and cowardice”.

He also said if he had known about the reference beforehand, he could have hand-led the issue in a ‘much better way’.

“Even after I learnt about the reference, I expressed my reservations and pointed out mistakes in it,” he added.

Re: Pro-Musharraf resolution on judges in pipeline: PML-N

Even goons like Wasi Duffer are now deserting Musharraf, just like how he deserted the chaudhries a little while ago and exposed their rigging cells.

Re: Pro-Musharraf resolution on judges in pipeline: PML-N

**Article 58 (2b): The amendment would abolish Article 58 (2b) and would transfer the powers of posting army commanders to the prime minister, it added. The channel said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was confident that it would secure the PML-N’s support in this regard.

**Very pro musharraf indeed :hehe:

Poor RP :hehe:

The News International: Latest News Breaking, World, Entertainment, Royal News **Pakistan People’s Party Tuesday ruled out the possibility of providing unconditional constitutional protection to the steps taken by President Pervez Musharraf. **

Federal Minister for Law, Farooq H Naek said draft of the constitutional package is being given a final shape which aims at creating an equilibrium between the powers of the Prime Minister and the President.

According to Geo News, the President offered to support judges restoration in exchange for constitutional cover to his steps.

** PPP says it can provide protection to a certain extent in case the President decides to step down.

Reza bhaijan. The electorate will not be happy if the judges are not restored with the same unprecedented powers bestowed upon them by Great President Musharaf. :)
