It is interesting story of wife of the prophet Safiyyah bint Huyayee Pbuh , she was a Jewish lady who lived in Khaibar , a City north of Medina . Briefly she was captured during the battle of Khaibar, in which Muslims armies won the battle and captured the city and they freed her and she become the wife of Prophet Muhammad Pbuh .
Khaibar was a Jewish city and the ppl lived in eight great strong built castles and the city flourished in great business in jewel and precious metals and lending items. It is the city that link cities of Syria and the Roman territories. The City benefited business transactions from the arabs travelers passing through north and south of the Arabian peninsula . During the time of treaty of Hudaibiyyah, Muslims under went a peace treaty which was one sided against the Muslims Not with pagans arabs .
During the year of the treaty the Muslims army and prophet Muhammad Pbuh had gone to Mekka for intention of Umrah but the pagans arabs prevented them from entering holy shrine of Kaabah and said the treaty disallow them for the umrah that year because the legality of the treaty . As not to stirred any tensions or unwanted confrontations between pagans arabs and muslims , Muslims and Pro Muhammad Pbuh had to pack and leave Mekka sadly without performing any umrah.
These news of that treaty were widespread and had undermined the strength of Muslims armies . Muslims were unable to perform umrah were taken as Great victory by anti Islam and Phobia and pagans Arabs , bunch together . The News of Muslims humiliations spread and was exaggerated to the extend that muslims had bowed to the pagan arabs and loser .
Hearing the weaker situations of the Muslims , couple with news of Muslims armies stop entry by pagan Arabs in Mekka, Jews of Khaibar smell great opportunity and took strong armies among them and ready to marched and put offensive attack the city of Medina while Muslims armies were yet in Mekka . Jews of Khaibar had been very treacherous very often and numerous attempt were made to ethic cleanse Muslims in Medina but simply failed despite signing treaty with muslims and they always in constant hostile against the muslims , they were open enemy to Muslims of Medina . They prevented Muslims to go to Syria and sanctioned Muslims from the trade with Syria , prevented food to entered Medina , they too help and join armies of coalitions in battle of Khadaq and they finance and befriend any enemies of muslims surrounded Medina . This is peak of their attempt was to attack Medina while Muslims were still in Mekka .
But the news of Jewish armies wanted to attack Medina reached Muslims armies very quick , in no time Muslims marched straight to Khaibar and by surprise attack City Of Khaibar with its 8 great castles , the four castle fight fiercely with the muslims armies and were beaten , the other four castle were simply surrendered . All the ppl died in the war and the rest were captured including their women and children. The Rest were expelled and had to leave the city of Khaibar to Syria with their belongings .
One of the captured Woman was Safiyyah , she was a daughther of Great Jewish Leader in Khaibar . Her husband was killed in the war . She was a widow . She was freed and treated with respect ! .
It is a traditions of Pro Muhammad pbuh to spread peace and to instate LOVE and peace and stability after war in the region , to join Muslims with any losing enemies , to eradicate hate and revenge , Pro Muhammad pbuh used to marry daughters of the great leaders of the fighting clans . This is very beneficial for both and join peace and to link Islam to that clans and so more of that clans will enter Islamic fold . Pro Muhammad Pbuh normally will released prisoners of war quickly with their ransoms for those who are afforded and the rest were simply freed and sign a neutrality legal pact as not to go against Islam in the near future , say 10 years or less . The suffering was gone quickly from the scene . Peace and stability were reinstating immediately.
At this juncture , Pro Muhammad Pbuh proposed to Saffiyah for marriage she simply accepted it . Saffiyah Pbuh was converted to Islam and observed Islamic teaching very much , along with wives of Prophet and learn Quran with great interest and knowledge . She was a devoted muslimah . Especially , the Quran , She had high esteem with Quranic contents . Quran effected her heart very much and deep, her eyes would rolled down with tears upon hearing each ayat . She memorise most of the ayats by herself . She indulged in great piety and Allah greatness . She too a great worshipper , beside obligatory prayer , she did voluntary prayers in great abundance and she constantly in remembrance of Allah .
Prior marrying Pro Muhammad Pbuh , She had a dream that the moon had fallen on her lap , she told her Jewish husband during that time and her husband slapped her and told her " You had fallen in love with the king of Medina that is pro Muhammad PBUH " .
When she met Pro Muhammad Pbuh for the first time , she told Muslims that she never met a man that was very gentle , kind , refined and well mannered than himself , Pro Muhammad Pbuh .
Once Habsyah Pbuh , a wife of the prophet , despised her with Jealousy because she had much attentions from the Prophet . Habsyah pbuh called her name " hi Jewish daughter " . Safiyyah cried and humiliated and told Pro Muhammad Pbuh the situations , in REPLY . Pro Muhammad Pbuh told her " why did not you answer back to Habsah Pbuh , My husband was Muhammad PBUH , My Father was Harun Pbuh and my Uncle was Moses Pbuh."
Safiyyah continued to observed Saturday the Jewish holy day and had good relations with the Jews. Her slave girl told the two situations to Syd Omar MAPWH and Omar asked about the accusations . She reply She will put much attentions to Friday than Saturday and with regards to the Jews , she told Omar , even Pro Muhammad Pbuh had kind relations with his relations that were pagans . On that Omar peacefully leave to what she did .
She died in year Hijra 50 , during Muawiyah period , She was buried in great Jannatul Baqi in Medina , along with great muslims . That was life of pious Jewish lady and Muslims had respected her for the great Quranic Knowledge and her learning Quran by heart.
