Private folders in Windows XP

I set My Documents folder to private,in windows xp. Later on I formated the system while documents were placed on another partition.

After formating I created a user name same as previous and tried to access My previous my documents folder but it gave message

“Access is Denied”

I tried everything that I could to access that but I can’t, I tried to change the permissions of My Documents folder but they are not available

there was very important data inside it, Any help ???
