Privacy vs. Technology

How far do we let technology into our lives?

Now most people have internet on their phones and are willing to update their current activities without any hesitation. So the question is, were they always this open, or has technology, such as fb and twitter motivated them to open their life up to others.

Some examples:

**A fb status/ twitter feed: “I can’t for this weekend! Barbados with hubby <3”
**
To me that’s like leaving your house keys on the door step and saying ‘please rob my house while I’m partying in Barbados and wont be home’

**The FB timeline
**
That is a dream come true for a stalker. They are only wishing you had shared more personal stuff about yourself.

Your views?

Ahem Ahem :chai:

may be they have their MILs and other khandan ki barri burrhi khawateen in their contact list  and it’s a way to keep their mouth shut - you know what I mean.

Re: Privacy vs. Technology

updates FB and Twitter about being on GS

Re: Privacy vs. Technology

LOL I was gonna write something on those lines here :hehe:

Social networking is by definition an invasion of privacy. One has to learn how to handle the information out there. Be careful and make most use of this great technology i.e. stalk others rather than being stalked!

Re: Privacy vs. Technology

I'm more annoyed that the government stalks you through technology which is an invasion of privacy...

Re: Privacy vs. Technology

The government can stalk you regardless. The difference is whether their illegal supervision can be used in court. If laws like the Patriot Act keep getting passed, then this evidence can be used.

I've always been wary of Facebook. I don't post status updates about where I am and most of my profile is fiction and written as a joke.

Re: Privacy vs. Technology

That's exactly what I do, I have my privacy settings done so that no random person can come and lurk my profile.
