Hey,
I have Apollo P-2100 U and im running ms.xp pro. Okay…now the problem is that I installed that printer 1 week ago and it was working fine and then I dont know what happened suddenly the printer stopped working .. I tried re-installing it through the software I have but it says " The printer driver is already installed. Would you like to uninstall and reinstall" and then there is a “yes” and “no” to select. If i press “no” the programs gets abort and when i click “yes” it says " file required to uninstall this printer is missing! Aborting.. " I dont know what to do I tried system restore, it aint helping either ..
So any user in GS with Apollo P-2100 U can help me , I would be really thankfull..
It seems you have accidently deleted some important files. I think this one has a USB interface. Remove the power from the printer and disconnect the USB cable.
Remove the printer software by the method ahmadjee recommended.
Then reinstall the software without connecting the printer to the computer. Once the printer software asks for the USB cable to be connected, power up the printer and connect the USB cable. It should work.
Personally, I am not satisfied with the USB interface functionality with printers on Windows.
uninstalling the printer software suggested above might not uninstall the printer drivers.
try going to device manager and uninstall the printer drive manually from there.
remove the printer USB cable from the computer, insert the cd back in, and plug the USB cable back in. when it detects the new hardward and prompts to install the printer, select the cd to install it from.
if this doesn't work, repeat the last step above on a different USB port.
a. Run the setup from the cd to uninstall.
b. Go into "Printers & Faxes" window, click on File and then Server Properties, click on the Drivers tab and highlight the right driver and try Replace, and if it doesn't work remove and then reinstall.
Good job Prince. This is how ppl have 10’s of thousands of posts to their names. So you are on the right track. Also try and so on smiley’s to increase ur post base.
1st thing you need to check if you have XP compatible drivers. I would advise you to download the latest driver 1st.
2nd: uninstall the printer from device manger, you can do so by going to printer properties and then uninstall the driver. dun forget to unplug prntr while you are downing that.
