Printer Inks

Printer for free… the ink cartirdges for $20-$50! Well, thats the business model for all these printer companies.

Anyway, question is has any of you tried those ink-refills? I am sure all of you get plenty of spam email which screams at us to get ink-jet refills at a throwaay prices, instead of buying brand-name refills at unholy prices.

Is the process of re-filling your cartridges really a painless process or are there deep tips and traps?

Any views?

depends on the printer really...canon printers, refilling the cartridges is no problem...but u can only reuse the same cartridge so many times...from experience, the third refill is usally the final one...after that, have to get a new cartridge...

HP and lexmark printers on the other hand, its a real pain refilling their cartridges...and they don't alwayz work after the refill either...maybe it'll print out a page or 2, and then stop working...

u can buy those alternative ones, for much cheaper

I went down to staples to buy an ink cartridge for my epson printer, i asked the lady to give me the staples brand one which was much cheaper and does exactly the same amount of printing!

I don’t know if it’s the same case with ink-refills but I got those recycled ones for my Compaq(priner, copier, scanner altogether) and after the third day of installing those cartridges my printer just stopped working..I get the message “printer error” everytime I turn the printer on…I tried everything but it doesn’t work not even the scanner …:bummer:

Don’t risk your printer for few bucks I’d advice…

I have tried the refills. It seems to work fine. The only problem they promised two refills for the price of one and I got one empty and one filled one. Despite several emails I could not get them to respond so buyer beware. But for my purposes at home, it works fine especially if you are only using it for your kids.

Ummm .. buy a laser printer with least amount of cost per page?
