Principle of Hadees

According to Illama Ibn-e-Jozi a well known scholar of Islam has given the following prinples of ahadees, all the ahadees can be judeged on the following principle and if they contradict any of these then hadees should be rejected.

Other than these there are tests related to the chain of narrators which is a complete science in itself known as Science of Men (Ilm-e-Rijal)

None of the scholars i red have rejected or objected these principles.( if there are any please do let me know)

they are as follows:

(*) Quran Majeed say mu’aariz ho

(*) Aqal.o.fehm kay munafi ya mu’ariz ho

(*) Sunnat-e-Nabvi (SAAW) say mu’ariz ho

(*)Mamooli ghalati per Sakht saza aur choti c naiki per ijr-e-azeem ka wada ho

(*) Kisi asool-e-Musl’lima say mu’ariz ho

(*) Mutawatir Hadees say mu’ariz ho

(*) Ijma-e-qat’ee aur yaqeni say mu’ariz

(*) Mehsoosat aur mushahidat say mu’ariz ho

(*) rakeek.ul.ma’inay ho aur uss per lagho ka shaq ho

(*) ussay sirf eak ravi riwayat karay halankay uss maiN aisa koy waqaya ho ju sab koy maloom hona chahiyee

(ref. Urdu daira-e-muraf-e-Islamia 7: 971-973
Fath.hul.mughees pg: 114
aajal-e-nafay pg: 29)

waqt kay saath saath in asoolooN nay izafa hota chala gaya, ju kay baad main post karooN ga

Re: Principle of Hadees

Addition to above,

Later scholars of Ahadees added following in the above principles:

(*) aisi fazool bataiN hooN ju App (SAAW) key zaban say nahi nikal sakteeN.

(*) Aa'yinda waqayaat key dates day ker paish'goy'ee key gayee ho

(*) Iss maiN Hazrat Khizar (AS) kay mutaliq bataiN hoN

(*) Chain of narration maiN koy sufi exist kerta ho

( ref: same as above)

Re: Principle of Hadees

nice post...but if sufi exist...confussing me...ibne tamiyyah and ibne jauziyya was only against deviant sufia...not all...i think...:)

Re: Principle of Hadees

it is said that Ibn-e-Jozi and Ibn-e-Tammiyah was against all sufis but those who are from Hanbali fiqh...

According to my knowledge that is not true, infact Ibn-e-Tammiyah and Ibn-e-Jozi was the strongest critics of sufism regardless of fiqh.

It is not restricted to these two gentlemen even Imam Zahbi and other scholars of ahadees have same stance on sufis.

( if want we can go in detail, but iam afraid that by discussing only this point in detail, we may divert from Principle of Ahadees to Sufism)

Re: Principle of Hadees

OK ..lets forget....:)
