Princess for a Day!!

Why are there are so many threads here - all talking about spending “Big bucks $$$$$” on one day? The marriage day.

I know some of your parents would be rich - but what about the others who cannot afford to spend so much - but will feel obliged to ‘borrow money’ just to prove they are not less than anyone. Or to fulfill the expectations of society.

Ladies - think about it.

Re: Princess for a Day!!

If someone needs to borrow money to show off and prove thier self-worth to "society"...that says more about their character dontcha thinK?

I think people have a right to celebrate their weddings as they wish to without people judging them as being show-offs and spoiled brats OR stingy/"cheap". But with any right comes responsibility, so one should also realize how much they can afford and celebrate within their means.

Re: Princess for a Day!!

this isn't about competition, its about making the most of a special day
the ladies on this thread are interested in seeking and giving advice on all aspects of the wedding, no one is saying you have to spend loads of money!
in any case you should have the guts to spend within your means, and think about your own welfare before social expectations
those who want to waste money and be extravagant will do so anyway, i dont think this forum encourages this trend, its just a place for girls to talk about one of the most important days of their lives

Re: Princess for a Day!!

^ And also, most of the time we're getting only a tiny glimpse into their lives. We don't know maybe they went all out for some things but skimped on others to cut costs.

Re: Princess for a Day!!

Re: Princess for a Day!!

if you dont want to spend money on your wedding, don't. it's as simple as that why are you making judgements on others?
