i don’t think Zardari really has a choice since a lot of internal ppp people are unhappy that he is the party leader

what does it matter. Bottom line, if the PM is from PML(N), nawaz sharif will be controlling his reins, and if the PM is from PPP, zardari will be making all the calls. so technically, nawaz sharif and zardari will be the two PMs

PPP will emerge as the party with most seats in NA. As such, PM will likely come from PPP. Amin Fahim may be a good compromise candidate for now.

too bad PPP ditched aitzaz. If they had made Aitzaz PM candidate I'd have signed up for PPP membership.

Anyway, what's the deal with Fahim? No one talks about him. Man, it must be lonely to be in the PPP if you're not a Bhutto or a drop dead bombshell like Sherry.

Fahim is intellectually and personality wise equivalent to NS. hes kept as a foil for some of the shinier high ranking PPP folk, just to ensure that they dont have pretentions to the throne.

Amin Fahim is a stable and reliable politician. He is a wealthy land lord from Sindh, a dedicated leader of PPP for years. He can never be blamed to be charismatic or particularly original in his approach, but he has demonstrated a pattern of being loyal, practical, and an ability to bring people together and forge productive alliances.
At the end of the day, he is a politician. He won't be extraordinarily honest or creative. His personal life likely has demons too. But he has a reputation of being relatively honest.

Zaradari knows how to keep his eggs in his basket. He is ruthless.
NS on the other hand being out of Parliament will not be that strong. I think many of PML (N) will go Lota depending upon who makes the government.

PPP - Amin Fahim seems cool minded and able politian; PML (N) someone like Chodhury Nisar Ali Khan, not too sure about Javed Hashmi.

Aitzaz as Prime Minister can be the right person in prevailing situation....He is acceptable to everyone....he is probably the single most important person who has brought down the pathetic dictator....through his peaceful struggle...
I hope our leaders have some national intrest in front of them...

What are you talking about? He withdrew from the NA contest to side with the lawyers boycott.
However he is still an important part of PPP

^Exactly....LockJaw and others have to understand that Aitzaz is very much in the team. He has suffered a lot under Pheron Musharraf he will be rewarded therefore! Inshallah.

we'll see. PML has announced support for Aitzaz as PM candidate. smart money I'd say is on Zardari trying to wriggle out of that one.
even if he didnt contest elections, he could always take any by-election seat he put his eye on.
