Inspired by Muqawee’s thread…I’ve often heard that pride is the root of all sins and recently I read that fear is the original sin. Which of the two do you think is most often the cause and why? Discuss.

so, dikhaave kii ibaadaat se takabbur paidaa hotaa hai jiskaa silaaa hannam hai!

What kind of fear you have on your Ibadat , it's just superiority complex.

Pride is bad but fear is more natural... so I think fear comes first...

Not always... fear is the mortal friend... but sometimes its also the barrier to greater things....

Being fearful probably is not a sin - it is what you feel in your nones. A little fear can be your friend as our wise hermit States. Pride, in limited portions is even encourages - proud of ones parents siblings children sports team nation etc.
Arrogance and lack of humility are more of a negative trait IMO.

I wont even connect the both. Even if religiously speaking, fear brings you near the Almighty whereas pride drives you away from Him.

mere nazdeek takkabur/gharoor insaan ko apne aap se aur baqi sab se door le jata hai...apna aur doosron ka bhi nuqsaan hota hai.....jabke khauf se insaan ka apna nuqsaan hota hai.
dono cheezain mukhtalif soorat-e-haalon per munhasir hain.
