Guys, I am not into online shopping at all. Dont know the lahore market either.
Can people living in lahore tell me please if its at all possible to buy decent shiffon with medium embroidery party dresses in the cost range of Rs 5-7000?
All these online people and so called designers in Pakistan are charging through the teeth and I dont like to spend any more then this budget on a dress .. What I dont understand is people living in Pakistan , how do they afford dresses that are Rs 10K or more ? considering that every season ladies want to have at least more then 3-4 new dresses !
Can you guys let me in on any secrets please? also if there are any good boutiques / sellers in lahoe that i can visit and buy dresses from ..
I am not interested in cotton/ lawn kind of dresses … more like shiffon party wear …
Fortress is your place.
and the reason that custom made cloths from home based designers/online are costly is because they use pure material, especially pure fabric, which costs more, whereas low quality material is used in ready made dresses, moreover, stitching alone in custom made dresses costs 1500-2000 for frock or panelled shirt.
Thanks holymoly for the details .. you reckon i can find some classy designs in Fortress?
Last time when i went to Lahore , I was pleasantly shocked at the the amazing fashion wear that girls wear in lahore .. and I realized perhaps they are aware where to get stylish clothes in good price ..
Hence I have thought of doing some hefty research this time round , to see if i can genuinely find any places / boutiques in lahore that can cater to my needs ...
I think posting up some pics of the specific designs you like may result in more suggestion, cause most of the outfits i see girls wearing around are custom made rather than ready made. I personally don't like ready made cloths.
CB, go to dupatta gali. You can find very good quality copies of needle impressions etc between 3k to 5k. You will have to haggle though. But you can easily make a good jora in 6k there. Another option is buying kapra and getting machine ki karhai on it . personally has never like anything in fortress except one or two boutiques but i havent been to pak in last years so may be things have changed.
Reidi, two years ago I went to fortress and didnt really like anything there , I thought things might have changed now.
But question is there are so many markets liberty, anarkali, link road etc .. arent there any smallers boutiques that do clothes in reasonable prices.. those living in lahore must know for sure ..
Everytime I get my clothes I do rounds in the market select my own cloth and get it stitched .. but this year i dont have the energy or time to do that , hence why looking at readymade options ..
Fortress is good but the quality I don't like that much... would try Oreega centre in Liberty they have alot of vareity there..but I do love shopping at needle Impressions and Threads and Motifz but you are looking just for shirt piece 4-5000 ...but they are beautiful :)
Sorry...just saw you would prefer ready made....There is a shop called Humuyan which is located in liberty and H bloc in DHA...Origins..beech tree which is in HKB have some lovely outfits...
Sorry but I dont like fortress too. The clothes are hideous :( Threads and Motifs, needlez etc have nice clothes but again they are unstitched. I've only been to Lahore once so can't really advice of anywhere decent there.
chk out on fb some small scale designers in lhr n get in touch with them abt ur need n range. that will give u some custom made option too.
Some fb pages to chk
Hoop, Ego(shop), Nida Javed, Insam(available at Labels), HK-dot to design, Qimash, Rida Shazad etc
if u go to basements in liberty there r some shops with sample stuff on mannequins and they make u similar styles on request. they r not designers but they work in collaboration with some darizis n emb walas.

CB that is why i love dupatta gali, you can find everything there in one small space from laces to dyers to tailors. If you like a sample at an embroidery shop you can just order there , they can buy the cloth, dye it and get it stitched for you, just that you will have to pay a bit more than usual like 500 to 1 k more but make sure u haggle like crazy or you can go to defense H block. the issue i find with budget friendly clothes is one of the pieces is always of poor quality, they compromise either on dupatta or trouser. its really really hard to find good ready made party wear. There is this shop in Y block defence opposite to where gul ahmed and maria b is. Its a small boutique and her clothes are exceptionally good but still her range starts from 12k.
but trust me if you want something like needle impression go to the pathans, you will get the fulls uit with out any hassle of dying or designing give it to a good tailor. Everything comes with pattis and patches these days.
I too am going to pak soon. I asked my best frnd to get some suits stitched for me...lucky me :D
Motifz on MM Alam Rd. They have ready made clothes (they also have open cloth, but go to the back and they have ready made). For about Rs 7000 - 9000 you can get chiffon clothes with thread work. They have lots of colours, lot of different designs. When I went last year, I bought gifts for EVERYONE from there, and I was able to get all different designs for everyone.
In liberty, in dupatta gali, there is a store called Shaposh. My cousin gets some of her clothes from there. They are all ready made.
I wasnt a fan of Fortress before, but this last time I went, they had opened new shops. Zahra Ahmed has a shop there (in front of Joyland) and she has some good designs, and everything is ready made. When she has sales, you can get really good prices.
