Imran Khan is an idiot if he said that. State houses like the Presidential Palace in France or the White House have multi-billion dollar budgets and are needed for the work and stature of the position. And honestly our official stately mansions have not been renovated since they were first built a good 40 years ago.

Yeah, AAZ is widower, he didn't need that big kitchen with all that complicated technology, but as the rumors says, the resident of Presidential palace is about to change and the new resident ( or his wife) want the renovation work done before they move in... Make sense

Presidents of USA and France are chief executives of their respective countries. Pakistan’s president is supposed to be a figurehead and massive expenditures for presidential palace are a waste. Such expenditure on Prime Minister’s secretariat can be justified.
BTW, operating expenditure ofPakistan’s president’s house is similar to that of Indian president’s house even though we have a much smaller economy and smaller and comparatively newly built presidential palace.
