how much savvy one needs to be simply to calculate the price of food items and make sure that you dont over pay for anything?
some tips to save your money on food:
use coupons whenever you purchase food items.
go on sale weekends to shop for two weeks or a month even if necessary
compare prices by going to different super markets and stores.
try the store brands sometimes, it wont hurt to try edibles are all the same. read labels to confirm.
any other tips?
on a separate note: black cherry coffee with vanilla bean tastes really yummy.
:>
how about eating less ?? sure could save lot of bucks ;-0
my saving tips r similar as yrs and few more
--- try to buy in bulk from wholesale grocery stores , but this applies to certain food items only ( like packaged food which could be used for + expire after longer periods as compare to fresh fruits , vegatables and meats), and for big families .
--- buying in bulk also saves a lot of gas
--- eat @ home instead of dining out also saves money
--- go out for groceries when yr stomach is full so that u won't end up doing impulse buying
--- last but not the least , try not to waste any food.
i agree to the last one especially.
first suggestion is fine, as long as one is not being under fed either or not a good host serving at least a couple of dishes.
thanks, hsap.
another suggestion- keep track of what you are buying and plan to use it. How much stuff do people buy that ends up tossed because it got spoiled...milk, eggs, bread.
or stuff that was cooked but too much was made and was not frozen, and thus tossed, so either freeze it or make lesser quantity when cooking.
