I think targeting close relatives/friends of a high profile official in Pakistan, by the terrorists is always a possibilility... Hopefully the government is prepared to tackle such issues.

its a smoke screen, for someone in the family who is or was going to speak against the President. Happens when one person is incharge of black and white of the country. Eever heard off Saddams son in laws.

I think comparing Saddam with Musharraf is a bit extreme. Ask those people who have/lived in Iraq, and they'll tell you the miseries.
