I think thats a new must for news readers now a days; I remember in the early to mid 90’s when i was growing up the news casters used to be middle aged aunties; now its early 20’s with above avg looks.

One of my favs is Asma Iqbal on geo.

What is your opinion on the state of news casters these days?

You're ALWAYS complaining about how BOLD pakistani cinema is getting, but here you are wanting to chat about some journalists on a news channel in terms of their appearance as if they're freekin' cows in a pasture. How about we talk about their reporting skills? How about we talk about their talent? Their ability to communicate and engage the audience? No, you want to talk about how hot they are, and meanwhile, you jump up to the chandelier when sex appeal becomes mantra in the drama-industry.

point of discussion here is how times have changed; 10 -12 yrs ago looks did not matter for a news caster, only news did. now it seems gorgeous faces are required for the new private channels in brodcasting news programs.

its true, its sad. now the news reader should be young, beautiful and on the private channels like geo should be sexy.
but it will change now after musharaf left his position.

Geo and other channels are run by thurkey uncles who are hiring these pretty girls in tbe hope to marry them or to .............. with them.
