Effort and grooming has a big effect on attractiveness. This applies to men and women. I’m not talking about layering on a pound of make up or anything, just basic grooming.

Agreed totally!! Men notice if you have hairy arms, legs or dark bushy eyebrows. They notice if your face is full of zits (it goes for both genders). If your hair are oily and dandruff is showing. You get the idea.
Men however don’t care if you are wearing tons of expensive makeup. Actually heavy makeup is something that men generally don’t like.
