The pretty ones don't really need to put in much of an effort. And for the not so pretty ones its like putting lipstick on a pig. So why bother either way? Isn't it amazing how they have built multi billion dollar empires exploiting insecurities of the woman-kind.
^Why do I get the feeling that for any Guppan who responds angrily to your post....that you're going to imply that she wouldn't be get so huffy and puffy if she were actually pretty?
How much $, time, and effort do you put in to making yourself look boooootttiiiiful, so the opposite sex sits up and takes notice?
I'm just curious. Cuz I don't think the guys really realize or appreciate this.
(As the boys will peak in every life1 thread to get their daily high, I figured this was much needed)
I spend time, money and effort but I don't think its for the opposite sex because they don't really notice makeup or the gazillion shades my hair has been through.
i think a man's definition of pretty is different from a woman's.
True ... I've noticed women concentrate on one feature at a time ... you are more likely to hear a girl say "she has nice cheek bones" than you are to hear a man say that ... he'll just say, "she looks nice" ...
well i dont really do anything to look pretty FOR the men. it's more for my own personal satisfaction and to look presentable. more of the kajal/eyeliner and lipstick girl :)

It really depends on the guy...I know guys who notice the smallest details, albeit they're probably a minority.
I do make an effort when it comes to appearances, that's just the way I've been bought up...to look presentable. And I know it'll sound cliche, but I genuinely don't make an effort for the opposite sex... I do it for myself.
