Pressure Cookers

Hey, I’m looking to buy a pressure cooker to speed up cooking! I’ve never used one before but are the instructions pretty straight forward?

Can anyone recommend a good pressure cooker in the UK?

And possibly give some tips on using a pressure cooker or perhaps some good recipes?

Would appreciate your comments, thank you

Re: Pressure Cookers

Ammi got this one recently and LOVES it. She uses it all the time. Their kitchen is currently being renovated, and she’s still cooking full meals because she has it.

(By the way, Costco had it for like $60, which is cheaper than Amazon.)

She raved so much, I got one too, but I haven’t used it yet.

Re: Pressure Cookers

^ this looks interesting. It doesn’t have to be on the stove! Amazing.

I have the standard PRESTO 4 quart that I use almost everyday. I got it from Kohls about 4 years ago. Still working like the first day I got it. It was $30 after a coupon.

Re: Pressure Cookers

my wife is not ready to buy pressure cooked from day one. She says I'll plot her murder using the cooker :)

Re: Pressure Cookers

Why are people scared of getting a pressure cooker.. I don't understand. You can't read the manual or what??? Its just like any other kitchen item you buy. How about don't buy a blender because you can cut your hand or a knife..

Anyway, I have a small fagor. I use it almost every day and totally love it.

Re: Pressure Cookers

That's why

I know this was a joke, but in Pak/India, an "exploding stove" is commonly used to kill a woman.....and I've heard of a few incidents where the pressure cooker exploded, so yeah there's always that fear

Re: Pressure Cookers

yeah true. :(

t](http://www.hawkinscookers.com/1.1.pressurecooker.html)he lid goes in the cooker so there is very very low chance of thing opening because of pressure and exploding. I use cooker for dal, vegetables, meat and rice. I used to be very scared too but once u start using you know what a life saver it can be.
