We are looking to buy a Pressure Cooker but there are a few brands that I need help in deciding which one is a good one.
Where to get a good pressure cooker in UK? And what is the difference between aluminum and stainless steel pressure cookers?
Re: Pressure cooker
aluminum is good for desi cooking where you don't have to bhoonofy your dish like meat and stainless steel ones are good for non-bhoonofying dishes like daal etc.
India exports some qood quality pressure cookers which are designed to last a long time and which are well suited for desi cooking. they are marketed by the trade names like "Hawlins", "Prestige" and "Liberty"... just to name a few.
Re: Pressure cooker
yup mostly said by KKF .. Just to add :
you can get good quality Pressure cookers from ASDA Direct / Tesco Direct , even Argos ... The aluminum ones are around £30 and the steel ones are around £60
I used to have a stainless steel one for years until it stopped working one day .. so I went and bought a aluminum one to see what the difference was ..
Alum ones are much lighter in weight .. work brilliantly .. but water evaporates quicker from them , so you have to ensure you keep an eye on it or add enough water
The steel ones are heavier , I found them difficult to handle as well specially for washing etc .. but food comes out done in slightly lesser time then the alum one ..
Because my preference was that I wanted a light weight PC , alum is working really well for me , but if you dont have the weight issue then I would say go for the steel one , it lasts longer too ..
