President's Address and Conference

As many had been hoping the president would hold a conference or address the nation after Bush’s departure, Gen Musharraf had a much welcome meeting with key media personalities yesterday in a very relaxed and confident mood.

He was strong in his views about the Afghan mibehaviour recently and was sarcastic about their outdated so called list of terrorists operating in Pakistan.
Something which Abdullah Abdullah has today admitted

He is confident we can acquire the F-16s anytime, but wants to focus more on development, I hope this will make many of those who oppose any military spending at all happy. They should now also keep in mind that India has increased its military budget by some 9%

Overall he was clear that the Bush trip had been very successful and there was no need to worry or have butterflies.
