bhai jab samajh na aye tu story post na kiya karo apney alfaaz mey... are u referring to the rehman malik/steel mill probe case incident from 2 days ago?
Pakistan’s Supreme Court today issued a contempt notice to Interior Minister Rehman Malik for “interfering” in a probe into alleged wrongdoing and financial irregularities in a state-owned steel company and summoned him to appear before it on December 24 to explain his actions.
An apex court bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, which initiated suo motu proceedings after taking note of a media report of alleged corruption in the Pakistan Steel Mills, took exception to Malik’s decision to change the officer probing the matter.
The bench said the minister’s action amounted to interfering in the working of the judiciary.
It issued a contempt of court notice and summoned Malik to appear in court on December 24 to explain his actions.
*Malik recently transferred Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) chief Tariq Khosa, who was conducting the probe into the functioning of the steel mills, saying that the apex court was not happy with his investigation. *
