"Asked what his government was doing about the Pakistani intelligence apparatus support for militant movements in the past, Zardari responded: "In the past, lots of mistakes have been made, I cannot deny that. But the present government does not support any such action and the -- I can assure the world from my side, from my Army’s side, from my parliament’s side and the people of Pakistan that we are not helping any such activity."
So he agrees ISI and pakistan was involved in previous attacks and misadventures..
Mr. Kumar, try to listen (for a change). And yes it is time to quit beating the dead horse of ISI this and ISI that.
FYI. ISI officers and jawans are dying while fighting terrorists, and you want to come here and be a smart-alik!
Mumbai carnage has shown that we have a common enemy in the form of Islamists terrorists. They destroyed big hotel in Islamabad long before they did anything similar in India.
Off course you are doing what people in Indian subcontinent have done for 1000's of years. That we fight while others take over our lands. So yes keep up your good work. Shabash.
Re: President Zardari on Larry King Live - Tonight 9 EST
I must say the interview wasn't as cringe-worthy as I thought it'd be. His answers were as hackneyed as they can get, but one thing we've learned from our neighbor and the US, is that parroting half-baked truths will eventually lead them to be taken as facts.
I liked when he said democracies don't go for war. I just wish that our leaders can look a bit less intimidated with westerners and use more stern tone when answering back.

You remember Larry Kings reply on that. US, a democracy, went to war, with Iraq. Zardari's response was that it was because of 9-11 attacks. That, I thought, was an oops moment. In essence Mumbai attack are 9-11 like for India.

Actually, I think, Zardari inadvertently got a chance to reinforce the idea that going to war when emotions are running high is silly. Everybody now acknowledges that Iraq war was a mistake, so I was kind of surprised Larry King even brought it up.
Zardari did a good job .... he had to convey his message and he did it decently .... he looked a bit tense, but i guess the situation is such.
By the way what was with those guys standing in the back .... Ceremonial presidential guards .... he wanted to impress Larry :)
Also i could not make out .... there were two diffrent flags in the back ... one is the Pakistan flag ... green with star and crescent moon ... what is the other green and gold one ?
Just to add ... no Benazir picture .... Gilani still has one in his interviews ....

just that statement was a little bit opps moment but then he made up for it with his extention on that statement.

***King: What about America in Iraq?*
***Zardari: Well, that's exactly an example today that America went to Iraq in a reaction to the attack on America. That's a reactive action, and that is something that the terrorists are always looking for, because they can corner the state stateless, actors can corner the state to go into a motion or an action which otherwise they would not do. This is exactly the fear, and that's why we should rise above it.*

Yes ! And so was RAW in many instances in Pakistan and now also Afhganistan. After all thats why these 2 were created in the first place.
India is a weak enemy with a XXLG body, at time one does get intimidated by the sheer size of this 'body's toond' under the dhooti.
More like viva voce situation in examination.:) He was reading the text already written for him. The text must be cleared by all agencies before he read on the TV. The answers were more like general in nature without provocation to any party.
These were not spontaneous answers experts on foreign affairs like ZAB or BB would have said. Anyway so far so good for him.
