so...why shud iran be feeling embarrased? its common knowldge he was an active member of the revolution. (prolly why he got chosen actually). see they see the hostage saga as heroic rather than a terrorist act, not least cuz it sent the shah supporting US gov. into shambles and caused the utmost humiliation. t'was sheer thrill.

OG, no one is asking US to have diplomatic relationship with Iran. I was just calling out Stu for not calling spade a spade. So what if he was involved in the (which we are not certain of) hostage crisis? Sharon was involved in killing/butchering over 200 palestanians…does that stop american peopel from supporting Israel? Nope…than you should not ask Muslism to support Iran becuase they elected someone who may (rumors-a-galore) have been involved in hostage crisis.

And lets be a little clear. The allegations with Sharon in Sabra and Shatilla is that he “gave a green light” to the Druze who actually did the killing. Did he give a wink and a nod? Probably, but as much as you may not like it, he was not directly involved. The allegations of this Iranianbobo is that he was present during year long brutal interrogations as a “security advisor”.
Seems to me that all the outrage about Guantanamo is a little strained if interrogators are allowed to hold the highest public office.
