Wow, what a screwed up system. I had no idea there were cities within cities - I still go back to my argument of rampant elitism in Karachi and other places in Pakistan.

I think that during present administration under present Nazim, lot of work is done regarding water supply to Karachi and availability as well as distribution of water has improved a lot in city during last few years.

there may be arguments for why DHA is able to get such prime pieces of land at throwaway prices. But thats a different debate, and has nothing to do with the water supply of the area. If anything DHA arranging for water itself is lessening the services provided to the elite by the state.

What water? I have visited Pakistan nearly every other year, and the water situation has only gotten worse over time.

^ which city did you visit? My folks haven't said anything about not having water in a while. Don't know if "rain" has solved much of this problem but I doubt if rain alone can solve the problem as city's population and demand is only going up while rain frequency/quantity has not gone up, neither have they increased size of lake.

This is surely a costly water and can only be afforded by DHA and Clifton people and they are willing to pay for that.
