Re: President Musharraf adminsters Oath to Prime Minister Gillani
I remember that October day in 1999 when Musharraf took over...then he was called the saviour from that NS govt's loot khasoot... People danced and distributed sweets to each other to cherish the occcasion. now the dictator.. However he did start many mega projects for the betterment....I guess not belonging to a political or an ethnic family of Pakistan , he would always lack a populist sentiment..... But then Pakistani nation always prefer political dynasties/hegimonies with the likes of Bhutto's, Sharif's etc etc.
There will always be people of different views. Today you might see people distributing sweet for restoration of democracy, it doesn't mean they are the very same people who distributed sweet in Oct 1999.

^ Wait for the day that you guys would be cursing and calling this new lot the same...bigger tyrants etc etc and that would wouldn't take that long either.
Yep, you hit the nail.. won't take too long. One can pull old threads but then these Mush/Dictator/Tyrant hating guppies won't be there or will be in new burqa.
Re: President Musharraf adminsters Oath to Prime Minister Gillani
Benazir Bhutto.
Imran Khan.
Qazi Hussain.
Fazlur Rehman.
and others.
All opposition leaders who supported General Musharraf's military coup in 1999, that overthrew Nawaz's govt, as did 95% of the Pakistan people. Not much talk of upholding the constitution then. Get rid of 58-2B and you will see scores of political leaders in a year or two's time queuing outside GHQ to save them from a dictatorial PM.
Its funny. I actually hated it when Musharraf took over. I wanted democracy to continue, plus this change was the result of personal animosity between two people (Mush and NS). I did'nt like the idea (still don't) of government change based on personal issues or egos. However later on, Musharraf policies like fight against mullahs in a pro-taliban infested Pakistan of that time, emphasis of economy and education changed my mind. so I think Musharraf is much better than what we had before and what we have now.
Re: President Musharraf adminsters Oath to Prime Minister Gillani
he held longer than NS, BB etc.
Because more than half that time he was a General as well as something else...But ofcourse he embarrased himself by declaring Emergency against himself, and then re-elected himself as President.

Re: President Musharraf adminsters Oath to Prime Minister Gillani
Mashallah Aalsi is our next Prime Minister. Alhamdulilallah this could only happen under the country’s only democratic president Musharaf, of course the greatest leader after Quaid-e-Azam
