Any ideas. I know a family who is planning on moving out of pakistan for say two years and they are selling their home and were obviously thinking of selling off their furniture too. But their furniture is awesome and i told them when you come back InshaAllah which they do plan to do, you will have to buy new furniture which will be very costly and the furniture you have now is really nice and though some of it is years old but those infact are the best pieces of furniture they have. So i gave them an idea of renting a room to keep their stuff in it. But i need to know how can they make sure the furniture doesnt rot :(.
Re: Preserving Furniture.
by covering everything very well
Re: Preserving Furniture.
no that alone cant do the trick :P i suppose some polish, room temp, etc wud have to be taken into consideration. thnx.
Re: Preserving Furniture.
yes ofcourse, humid na ho kamra, aur also make sure if furniture is lakkarh ka, ke woh lakkarh khanay walay keerhay na kharab kar dein ![]()
Covering with cloth helps, but sprinkle dried tobacco leaves on the upholstery or add Napthalene pellets to keep the bugs out of the upholstery........usually works!
Re: Preserving Furniture.
You should worry about termites eating your furniture so some spray or something to keep them away would be the first thing. You should also cover it well and keep it away from sunlight and dampness.
