Re: presence of piety here and absent there
hum hein lajwab,
i agree. i am sure and would admit, my posts can be any mood from serious to non serious, but hope is that i always remain me. that you can find dushwari in them, an sense where dushwari's posts are referring to.
the underlying basis does not have to shift, does it?
being one way, conservative in one thing is fine and being non conservative is fine.
but being purposefully controvesial and leaning on hypocrasy is not fine.
that is what the issue is.
your example of your own self posting in religion forum, & your analysis of yourself as someone who you think is not make you a good muslim is self defined.
when an onlooker reads you, in diff forums, they can tell it is hum hein lajawab.
we all joke, we all have our moments of being high or being low in being silly or being sagacious.
but what is at stake when people are giving the clue of being someone other than what they so claim they are, that, is what is questioned by my inital post in this thread i opened.
how nice it would be if people owned up to their selves and did not feel the need to cowardly hide away their underlying thoughts.
um..just a thought, it is not meant to be taken by fellow GS members are a targeting comment post.
best,
Dushwari
Dushi jee, while you have a point here, I will agree with Fraudia paa. I don't use my own example (when it comes to presenting good examples) but just for sake of argument, I will consider my example.
I am mostly active in cafe for just light chit chat. Once awhile, I do visit Religion Forum (I have my reasons for not posting in the forum that much). Now just because I post in cafe more than Religion, does that mean that I am a completely different person the moment I step in any of these forums? Light chit chat and posting Ahadith/Ayahs can both be a part of person. A person can choose to show only some of his/her personality depending on the forum. Now keeping this same example in mind, I can also say that just because I post in Religion forum once awhile does not automatically make me a good muslim (which I don't consider myself anyways)? The answer would obviously be No.
