The blessed month is upon us. May Allah honor us by allowing us to observe it to our best of abilities.
What are your routines to prepare for the month of Ramadan, and how do you maximize every available moment during it, for surely all actions are multiplied a countless number times. Please share so that others may benefit from it.
I have found that it helps me to train myself by starting to fast one or two days a week in Shabaan, and get in the routine and discipline for Ramadan.
Better to start reading quran with meaning and but tafseer of it...try to memorize quran ayah or last few surah to recite in qayyam ul lail...
AsSalaamo Alaikum,
I was so delighted when after Juma'a salah, the masjid management announced that during Taraweeh there will also be a Tafseer of quran after 8 rakahs. And Quran Recitation classes are starting very soon. If Allah wills, and classes start within the month, it would be a blessing upon blessing.
Point of mentioning that is that what you said is crucial. Tafseer of Quran is as important as listening to it. Listening to it is of course commanded, so that we may be blessed. But if we know what we're listening to, and/or what we're reciting, then Quran will soak into us as it ought to and critical changes will take place that make us more aware of the message, and insha Allah become better believers.

Ibn Al-Qayyim said, “The heart on its journey towards Allah the Exalted is like that of a bird. Love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings. When the head is healthy, then the two wings will fly well. When the head is cut off, the bird will die. When either of two wings is damaged, the bird becomes vulnerable to every hunter and predator.”

The month of Ramadan should in essence allow us to realize this, and finish the blessed month having reformed or at the very least reset ourselves to a start where we can maintain an upward approach rather than downwards in terms of Prayers, Supplication, Giving for the sake of Allah, among other recommended things.
Angels record hasanat for even the intention of good deed. Regret of not being able to achieve a noble goal may in itself be a good deed, Allah knows best. It’s still not too late. If we can learn even one ayah and understand its’ purpose and meaning, that would be more progress than 11 months that have passed. As long as we continue to progress forward even at snail’s pace, insha Allah that might make us succeed because Allah makes difficulties easy when we truly strive. Don’t lose hope, and keep up a “Can Do” attitude especially in matters of Deen.
