I’m 9 weeks pregnant and I’m having a hard time with the prenatal vitamins. I’ve been getting nauseous since week 6, but I’ve only thrown up twice. I take the vitamin at night before bed to prevent being nauseous all day. On most days I’ll lay in bed after taking the pill, trying not to vomit. I’ve come very close to vomiting but I usually eat saunf and manage to avoid it. Twice I’ve vomited right after taking the pill regardless of chewing on saunf or ginger candy.
For the past 3 days I have not taken the prenatal and I feel great. I know that it is probably the high iron content that is making me nauseous.
My question is: what prenatal vitamin did you take that was easy on the stomach? Also, did yours have Vitamin A in retinol/retinyl form and you went on to have a healthy baby? The only reason why I’m taking this specific prenatal is because the vitamin A is 100% beta carotene. The retinyl/retinol is known to increase risk of birth defects but now I’m skeptical of how high that risk is because its in most of the pills that I’ve been searching for.
Re: Prenatal vitamin
There is a specific prenatal that helps with nausea. I think it is high in Vitamin B 6 . It did nothing for me but has helped many others. It is prescription only. Call your doctor's office and they should be able to call your pharmacy with a prescription.
Re: Prenatal vitamin
Thanks! Will do
Re: Prenatal vitamin
Congrats btw and keep us updated on how the pre natal worked out for you. With regards to the vitamin A content, Don't know, but if they are putting it in a prenatal vitamin it should be ok to take.
