i have liked her WATER.so am sure gonna see this one too.did anyone watch it,as i have heard a lot of good reviews about this movie.
I saw the movie on youtube.its in 12 parts and the first 2 are missing there.
its a depressing topic but Preity has done good work.
The movie is without subtitles and their Punjabi is very hard to understand at times, which resulted in me not getting lots of dialogues...:(
muniya i wonder in which world you are living:hehe:its still very common ,anyways the main theame was how canadian people do rishta of their son back home, and how a young girl comes to canada, everything is new to her .how she survive the family saas susar bakwas .omg:eek: she didnt have permission to use her own salary.well its very common in canada to bring girls from back home and treat them as nokarani:disgust:i am not saying all of the people do this, but still majoraty do it.
preety way to go:k: what an acting ,she s looking so cute in shalwar kameez and especially in her wedding dress (the pink one) over all the movie was good.i didnt get the cobra part:hmmm: maybe its there myth or something:konfused:
Is this the same sort of story as the Aishwarya film that was based in UK? Girl from India, abused by husband, then she killed him kinda deal? I think it was based on a true story
that was based on some true story.
This one is based on some myth I guess about the snake thing.I did not understand that bit it was without subtitles.
the similarity between both movies was a girl going abroad from India, arranged marriage and domestic abuse.
its an indian myth that a cobra can change into anything after 100 years ..its based on that ,how that cobra gave her courage ..ok i sound dumb ,go watch ..you wont get bored:D
In Heaven on Earth, acclaimed director Deepa Mehta highlights the isolation and disappointment faced by a family of Punjabi immigrants to Canada.
When Chand (played by Bollywood superstar Preity Zinta) arrives in Brampton, Ontario to meet her new husband, she leaves behind a loving family and supportive community. Now, in a new country, she finds herself living in a modest suburban home with seven other people and two part-time tenants. Inside the home, she is at the mercy of her husband’s temper, and her mother-in-law’s controlling behaviour.
