What your MIL said is wrong but I'm guessing this isn't the first time you've heard something backwards from her. These ladies do not understand PCOS or any other disease process. They are very much so el stupido and most folks honestly are. So you can choose to ignore it or confront her and let her know that it has nothing to do with any superstitious ideas but rather a biological phenomenon and be happy there is a child coming into the picture.
