My first one is 2.5 yrs older than the second one and I had gotten shocked when I had concieved second time. It was an unplanned pregnancy as well. Unplanned pregnancy no matter at what time will give you a shock I think :)
I still would have preferred to have a larger gap but it happened and I am thankful for what I have now.
I found the initial period very difficult and still find it difficult sometimes but parenting itself is a very tough job no matter if the kids are born closer to each other or farther.
Also I disagree with people saying kids are going to be best friends when they are closer in age. It depends on kids personalities and may be gender as well.
My kids play with each other at times and are jealous of each other at other times. I dont think that would have changed if they were closer in age.
