Did anyone have an exercise routine during pregnancy? If yes, what did you do and how often did you do it?
Any pregnant mommies want to start an exercise routine thread here?
Any pre natal yoga routine? My back has been hurting a lot and I am thinking of joining yoga classes but wanted people’s input on that!
I was just looking online and looks like Lindsay Brin’s workout and yoga is recommended by many people.. any experiences, reviews, recommendations?
I am in my second trimester.. didn’t move a limb during the first trimester due to being so sick but now I have began to feel like a cow, which I am fine with for now but will love to have an easy routine just so its easy to lose weight after the baby is here.. I am not ready to part away with my pre pregnancy clothes yet
Nothing wrong with wanting to be healthy but please don't worry about the weight gain. It's mostly water anyway. As long as you're eating well and somewhat active, you're fine.
Sahar.. I am really not too worried about the weight gain.. its the losing part after that I am concerned about
Honestly, just the fact that myw eight isnt in just my belly.. Iam overall round right now worries me if it’s just the water/baby weight or what!!
I do eat healthy.. just occassional junk (which I did even before pregnancy) but I do want to stay fit during pregnancy.. I think a lil workout here and there isn’t gonna hurt especially if it’s designed for pregnant women.. what do you think???
If swimming is not an option then try yoga....it'll help you relax and like Sahar mentioned it will help with flexibility not only for labor but will really help later on what putting on shoes can be a challenge
im doing walking ,sometimes for an hr ,sometimes half an hr and other times just getting out of the house n a stroll around the block. Its really helping me with my sleep.
I have been going for walks amost everday for 20-30 mins (sometimes only 10 mins) but then I am on my feet most of the day so its okay! I just wanted to have a set routine.. I am sigining up for pre natal yoga though.. a lil expensive but I am sure it will be worth it.
I think you're supposed to increase your caloric intake when pregnant by what...300 or 500 calories? Can't remember.
I do wonder if let's say you stay within the limit for calories......because I know you can exceed your calorie limit even by eating healthy or low fat foods. But if you stay within your limit and eat mainly healthy foods....avoid junk. Then it should be easier to lose weight after having the baby right? Considering you lose several pounds (from fluid, etc) after birth.
Swimming is the best...oerwise join pregnancy yoga classes.... Really good too...Gtg...if i can lose pregnancy weit...u can too!!!! And im pigging out majorly!
I tried to do the elliptical during the second trimester for 20 mins, 3-4 times a day. Then eventually gave up cause it would just tire me out too much. My doctor wasn't that concerned but the specialist I was seeing wanted me to walk, even if it was a short walk to the mail box. I didn't do that for even a single day.
What I really loved were the pregnancy yoga classes I took during my first pregnancy. Since that is something you are already interested in, I would encourage you to look into those.
I tried pregnancy Yoga. I borrowed the DVD from a friend. Ok, so in this DVD, the woman is heavily pregnant and doing the splits and all sorts of other funky things.
All I know is that once I made it down to the floor, I could not get back up.
RV.. yep it's about 300 calories more but honestly I am not worried about my calories or even the weight gain.. I am eating very healthy alhamdulillah, so far didnt have any junk or middle of the night food cravings.. I snack on carrots all day long and I hated them before pregnancy so I am not worried about weight gain!! I just want to stay fit because yes I do feel fat and lethargic because of lack of regular activity!! and of course it will be easier to lose weight after.. Blessed to be pregnant but we dont haev to carry baby weigth with us forever!
I have signed up for pre natal yoga classes on Monday.. for now it's only six classes that I am taking.. if everything goes well, I may repeat it!
Mehnaz.. my mother freaks out if I walk fast let alone exercise or do the splits in pregnancy.. I want to try yoga for the pelvic pain that I have been getting for a few weeks and everyone recommends yoga for that! my posture is horrible right now and honestly I really dont know the proper way to sit or stand which adds in the misery!! :-(
