Re: Pregnancy Pains?

so you're saying osteoporosis in women aged 50 and over is caused by lack of nutrients/vitamins when they were pregnant earlier on in their life?

im a Pharmacist and im not aware of that link between osteoporosis aged 50 plus and lack of vitamins during pregnancy. Please provide some studies which show this link:

"Lack of vitamin supplements during pregnancy and osteoporosis later on in life."

Re: Pregnancy Pains?

I was checking on the baby centre website(****Buying pregnancy vitamins | BabyCentre](Buying pregnancy vitamins | BabyCentre)) and this is what they had to say about vitamin supplements:

"Experts agree that the best way to make sure you and your baby get all the nutrients you need while you are pregnant is to eat a varied, well-balanced diet. This should include fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans and fish. Foods such as refined sugars, processed foods, saturated fats, and other animal proteins should be limited.

However, in some circumstances it can be difficult to get all the nutrients you need through diet alone; if you are suffering badly with morning sickness, for example. In this case, your doctor or midwife may advise you to take a multivitamin supplement especially designed for pregnant women."

Generally Multivitamin supplements are not recommended for ALL pregnant women.

Re: Pregnancy Pains?

Bad varies from woman to woman. My delivery was 1000 times better than my whole pregnancy. 9 months of complete nightmare I tell you. The most horrifying experience of my life. Only reason I might EVER think about having another baby is of course for my daughter but because Alhumdulillah my delivery was not as hard as I thought it would be.

Some thing close to that pain: Ever thought how it would feel if someone tries to hammer your spinal cord, tries to pull your insides out. There I probably scared the living hell (mind my language there) out of many girls on this forum.

Worst part is nausea, dizziness, bleeding of gums, leg cramps, Carpal tunnel syndrome, gas, acne, constipation, varicose veins, some women become hairy monsters because of the hormonal changes. And if someone is as unlucky as I was then uncontrollable glucose levels with insulin dependency & an inflamed lower abdominal muscle. I can keep on writing & writing.

On a positive note. Joy on your hubby's face. Priceless. The way people treat a pregnant woman is just beautiful. You get to be first in line anywhere. People will give up their seats for you. Will make sure you get fed first at a party. Once you have the bump cars will definitely stop for you so you can cross a road without having to stand like a mother duck. Shopping for the baby. Beautiful. Able to eat whatever you want & whenever you want. Awesome.

Feeling the baby inside you. Its a connection no human being can ever feel with your baby. Listening to the first heart beat. No sound is as beautiful. Seeing the first ultrasound of your baby. Although he/she WILL look like a tadpole or a weird alien. Its going to be the most amazingly beautiful living thing you have ever seen. Once the baby is born the pure simple joy of just holding him/her. Although a mother is knocked out after delivery she never forgets the first meeting with the baby. Father giving Azaan. Simply beautiful. For me the most emotional moment through out out the whole birthing process was hubby giving Azaan. Saw a part of him I had never seen before.

Planning on having a baby in future: Get your finances in check. Those tiny little baby essentials to add up. Start taking prenatals. I was not able to take them because of extreme nausea. My baby is Alhumdulillah healthy. But there is a reason doctors want you take it. Every time you cook food, freeze a little for the days when nausea hits really bad. If you have medical insurance check with them as to what they do cover & what they don't. Make exercising a regular part of your daily life. You want your body to be as strong as it can be for the huge changes it will be going through once you conceive.

Last but not the least keep faith in Allah.

Good luck :)
