In one of my multiple miscarriages, it turned out that even though the pregnancy wasn't viable, the placenta was still growing, thus releasing hormones even making it seem like my hcg count was doubling. Ultrasounds couldn't detect a fetal sac though or a heartbeat, so when they finally did the d&c at 11 weeks, my doctor found that the placenta had actually attached outside my uterus and I was probably days away from hemorrhaging.

Khattichic sorry to hear that. Im not sure what's happening with me iv had multiple scans (6-7 weeks gest) and dr cnt c anything ive been told its looking like not a viable pregnancy and my uterus lining is very thick and cystic meaning its preparing to miscarry. But They are still waiting saying they are still not sure because my hcg doubled from 600 to 1200 in 48 hours. Iv got an appointment on Tuesday now when theyll decide on d&c. Ive been cramping forever too. Im not really attached to this pregnancy because it was unexpected but it's frustrating not knowing whats happening.

If they can't see a gestational sac or heartbeat by 7 weeks then unfortunately it's a missed miscarriage. Your hcg is still rising because the placenta is still releasing not realizing the fetal embryo was not viable. Please don't let this drag out and insist you're doctors do a d&c

Thanks khattichic, I'll definitely go ahead with it asap. The dr said legally they have to wait till Tuesday to make a decision. I personally believe im 7 weeks along but they think im 6 because of my cycle so they are waiting. They did a v/ultrasound 4 times and each time saw nothing apart from thick lining and signs of miscarriage, im more worried about it being ectopic :/ hoping for the best. Thanks for sharing xx
