pregnancy cravings

I am towards the end. Alhamdulilah. (Waiting for our little one) I have very strong craving for gyro, I wont mind having one for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I told my husband, he said “roti main ghost laga lo” :smack: :((

So ladies, what are you craving?

Re: pregnancy cravings

Not a lot this time, surprisingly. I think the most was a craving for Magnum bars in my 6th month but that’s gone now. Gyros are yum!

Re: pregnancy cravings

No particular cravings as in food but in taste. I loved spicy food. That could be anything!!!

Re: pregnancy cravings

Chocolate!!! I can’t get enough :naak:

Re: pregnancy cravings

^Did any of you get put off by a food during your pregnancy to the extent that you never ate it again…even post delivery? Or were there foods that you loved or were addicted to before pregnancy but then couldn’t stand them when you were pregnant?

Just the curious musings of a non-mother. :hehe:

Re: pregnancy cravings

with this pregnancy, i couldn’t drink my beloved twice daily cups of chai for the longest time. instead, i turned into a total cappuccino addict which was crazy because normally i can’t stand coffee- it makes me very nauseous- but i had no problems whipping up a cup or two with the nespresso. it took many months before i could stand chai again but the taste i acquired for cappuccinos still stands.

Re: pregnancy cravings

What causes the cravings and turn-offs? Hormones? Heightened sense of smell?

Fish…been 4 yrs now :frowning:

pregnancy cravings

None so far. Just notice a weird influx in my appetite. I’ll eat but still feel like im starving and sometimes I’m hungry but can’t eat much.

Re: pregnancy cravings

I think both of those…

Re: pregnancy cravings

Omg me too - pre-pregnancy I could have chai at absolutely any hour. First trimester nausea kicks in and chai is the first thing that my body rejects :frowning: Now able to have not more than 1 cup a day.. but well, guess too much caffeine is bad for the LO anyway.

I realized the other day that the stuff I’ve been craving - apples and gulkand (rose petals in syrup) - are actually great remedies for 3rd trimester heartburn. Guess our bodies know best what’s good for us!

Re: pregnancy cravings

Uff fruit. That was a first and second trimi disaster for me too. Guaranteed barf :frowning:
Now that I think if it, I had faaaar more aversions than cravings.

Re: pregnancy cravings

Red meat…the thought of eating it makes me want to vomit.

Looking at any kind of meat…red, chicken, fish, etc…I’ll cook it if I have to but I cannot bring myself to eat it.

Cravings…

ICE COLD stuff…cold water, cold soda (although I am off of that), cold slurpees, cold stuff…water the most.

I have come up with a weird combo of food that I like a lot these days…parathay and cream cheese. Uff Allah…I could eat that all day.

Lately, I’ve been craving besan ki roti.

Re: pregnancy cravings

I can’t stand buffalo wings and blue cheese … ughhh!

Re: pregnancy cravings

That’s interesting considering fruit doesn’t have a strong smell in my opinion…milder compared to like red meat and fish and garlic/onions etc.
